Here is what the leadership of your Northeast Democratic Club has done to prepare for the election Opened Two Campaign Offices As part of the United Democratic Campaign, 44th Assembly District Democrats have opened the United Democratic Headquarters at 414 S. Lake Avenue in South Pasadena. Northeast Democrats Mike Lee and Mark Gonzalez are on staff and John Gallogly is Treasurer. The office is open daily for voter registration and outreach efforts. On August 20, 45th Assembly District Democrats will open the Northeast Democratic Community Headquarters at 6100 N. Figueroa Street in the northeast Los Angeles community of Highland Park. The campaign coordinators are Carol Jacques, Tony Scudellari, and Bill Rumble. The 45th AD HQ is a coalition operation. Our partners are the Stonewall Democratic Club and the Urban Democratic Action Council. For even more information on the Northeast Headquarters and its activities, be sure to read Tony’s campaign report in this and every future issue of the newsletter. Identified and Met with Local Leadership Leadership Teams In AD 44, the UDH team also includes NEDC Past President Mary Garripoli and former Temple City mayor and NEDC member Bobbie McGowan. In AD 45, the campaign coordinators meet weekly with Stonewall President John Cleary, Finance Coordinator (and former NEDC Treasurer) Colleen Colson, and Fundraising Coordinator Ana Mascarenas. Developed an Ongoing Campaign Plan In both ADs, volunteers are busily registering new voters and conducting voter outreach. Rallies draw even more volunteers to the headquarters buildings. Phoning of voters will begin soon. As Election Day nears, precinct walking will begin. Speaking Frankly… Your club and campaign leaders have worked hard to elect Barack Obama and the entire national, state, and local Democratic ticket. They will continue to do so. But, as each day passes, the success of our effort becomes increasingly dependent on the active, sustained commitment of each and every Northeast Democrat. Dear Reader…THAT’S YOU. Here’s what you can do RIGHT NOW and EVERY DAY to insure a great Democratic victory on November 4 Volunteer at Your Local Democratic Headquarters Go to one of the offices listed above where you can choose to • Register New Voters • Phone Registered Voters • Walk Precincts • Or...Just Help Around the Office! One of the beautiful aspects of being a Democratic Party activist is that there’s a job for everyone! With your commitment and assistance, we’ll have a great victory on November 4! By Bill Rumble |
